4 Leave no trace
Always take your litter away with you. Many places in the countryside do not have public bins but this doesn’t mean you can drop your rubbish on the ground. Litter could start a wildfire and is dangerous to wildlife and farm animals as they can hurt themselves on it or end up eating it which could make them seriously ill.
5 Look after your dog
It is important to keep dogs under control in case they run into a field of farm animals and scare them. Look out for signs asking you to keep your dog on the lead. If you have to walk through a field of cows, your dog should be on a lead, but if you are approached by the cows, it would be better to let your dog off their lead. The dog will be safer and so will you. Always remember to pick up any mess your dog makes, too, and carry it to the nearest dog bin, as this can make farm animals sick!
