FOR Batik Eggs, you will need:
blown or hard-boiled eggs (hard boiled is easiest for younger children!)
crayons (white makes especially pretty designs but any colour that is different to your dye will work) or gold or silver permanent marker pens
dye (either natural or from a packet; you can also use food colouring)
a bowl
Using your crayon or marker pen, draw a design on your egg. It can be a picture or pretty squiggles!
Dip your egg in your dye. If you are using a blown egg, hold it down with a spoon to stop it floating up. The longer you leave your egg in the dye, the darker the colour will be.
When you’re ready, lift out your egg out gently and put it on kitchen roll to dry.
