Smile, It’s a Smoothie
Smoothies are quick and delicious. Full of fruity goodness and packed with protein and calcium from milk and yogurt, they give you everything you need to get ready for the day!
Ask a grown-up to help you peel and chop the fruit. Then pop it all into a blender, making sure it’s not plugged in yet. Add your yogurt and milk. If you are using bananas, they will make your smoothie thicker, so add a bit more milk. If you are using fresh fruit, you might also want to add some ice cubes to keep your smoothie cool.
Now put the lid firmly on the blender and ask your grown-up to plug it in. Press the button and watch it whirl.
Before you pour out your smoothie, ask your grown-up to unplug the
blender. Then try a spoonful – if it’s not sweet enough, add some
honey and whirl the blender again.
Pour into cups and enjoy!
You will need:
250 g plain yogurt 100-120 ml milk
200 g fresh or frozen fruit: apricots, peaches, kiwis,
bananas, blueberries, strawberries and maybe even the
radiant raspberries you’ve grown in your garden . . . remember,
softer fruit makes a smoother smoothie!
2 teaspoons honey (optional) ice cubes (optional)
