 It’s best to pick your flowers or leaves on a sunny morning, after any dew is gone. Make sure
they are all completely dry, then place them between two layers of dry paper or card, sandwiched between two heavy books.
Now lay even more books on top!
Leave for 7-10 days . . . then open up and, hey, presto – pressed flowers and leaves!
Press to impress
Pressed flowers and leaves make beautiful gifts. You can frame them, stick them on to home-made greeting cards, or turn them into bookmarks. Try dahlia petals in the autumn, pansies in the winter, or violets in the spring.

You will need:
Flowers such as daisies, delphinium, cosmos or single- petal roses (make sure to ask permission before picking!)
Leaves with interesting shapes, such as ferns, oak or maple
Newspaper, parchment paper, blotting paper or flat card
Some heavy books
