Brilliant Butterfly Party
Butterflies love bright colours. So, if you want to see lots of butterflies, wear colourful clothes and have a special picnic for your new fluttery friends!
Dress like a butterfly
in your most colourful clothes and hat. Spread out your blanket near the butterflies’ favourite flowers, like buddleia, knapweed, sedum or lilac . . . or if you can't find those, the brightest blooms you can see!
Sit quietly and enjoy watching the butterflies come to join in your picnic. If you hold very still, they might think you’re a flower . . . and land on you!
Draw all the butterflies you see, so you can look up their names later. How many can you count? Which flowers does each one seem to like best?

You will need:
brightly coloured clothing, ideally with flowers on it
a picnic blanket
snacks for you and your human friends
a drawing pad
coloured pencils or crayons
