Different vets need different tools to help them do their jobs. But there are some basic things that all vets use:
An otoscope to look in animals’ ears
Gloves to stop the spread
of disease
A thermometer
to measure an animal’s temperature
A stethoscope to hear the sounds of an animal’s heart and lungs
An ophthalmoscope to look in
animals’ eyes
A calculator to work out how much medicine an animal needs
A watch to count an animal’s heartbeats per minute
Using these tools, the vet’s job is to find out what is wrong with their patient and to try and do something to make it better.
