A lot of homes had a courtyard at the centre of them, while the outside walls had small windows high up. The Greeks clearly liked their privacy (despite the whole NaKeDnEsS thing).
Many homes had an altar to the gods Zeus and Apollo. When the family prayed together they offered a gift to the gods. It could be a cake, a bird or a sheep.
