Water vole
A round-faced rodent that makes burrows in the banks of slow-moving rivers. It can be seen during the day, sitting on its hind feet, nibbling on stalks of grass.

This long, green, non-venomous snake is
the largest species of snake
in Britain. In contrast to the adder, it has a yellow and black collar and round pupils.

Green tansy beetle
A metallic green leaf beetle that mainly eats and lives on bright yellow tansy plants. They tend to stay close to where they hatch, some living on the same plant for their whole life!
How you can help
Stay on tracks and paths so you don’t disturb nests on the ground.
Birds build nests to provide a safe place for eggs and young birds to grow.
