Freshwater habitats suffer from pollution from many different sources. Industrial sites, sewage tanks
and fish farms all pump their waste into freshwater habitats. Fertilisers that drain off farmland into freshwater can cause algae and weeds to grow too much, choking the water and killing off all other species that are living in the area.
