Deforestation and the building of mines threaten
the savannah ecosystem, because there isn’t enough room left for its animals who need lots of space.
But the animals that live in the savannah are also targeted directly. Famous African animals are hunted and killed so that rich tourists can take their heads and skins home as trophies. Elephants are killed for their tusks, which poachers sell as ivory.
