BRACKENFIELD
BRACKENFIELD SCHOOL
rackenfield
Bis a small, school: we do not select
plays are the talk of the town! Recent successes
have included first place in no less than five categories in the recent Harrogate Festival and being a finalist in an annual national Christmas Choir competition for two years running.
Even though we are small school we punch above
our weight when it comes to sporting success. Our teams regularly feature at the top of the tables and our children show a tremendous team spirit whenever they play together.
This term has been tough for everyone, but
Brackenfield have led the way with our online school. Children are involved in
lessons and project work all day, every day, from
Nursery all the way to Year 6. We are very proud of what we have achieved. We are of course very much looking forward to our children returning at the start of next month: they have been wonderful at engaging in our online programme but it will be lovely to see them back.
We have ensured we play an active part in the community through the Covid 19 crisis. In addition to a food bank drive early in the crisis, we have been open every day (including through Easter) for the children of key workers. We have supported front line NHS, police, armed
independent
school with a
on the basis of ability.
That said, our results are
consistently excellent: this
year, all our year 6 pupils will be going on to their first-choice senior school, and seven pupils were awarded scholarships. The children work hard and are well supported, with smaller than average class sizes and lots of individualised support.
As well as our excellent academics, we pride ourselves in our extra- curricular programme.
We excel particularly in performing arts, regularly coming out on top in local and national festivals and competitions. Our school
friendly, family feel for
children aged 2 to 11. The school is idyllically
located in the Duchy conservation area of
Harrogate at the end of Duchy Road.
We pride ourselves on getting to know every child really well: we take the time to understand how they learn best so that we can tailor our teaching to play to their strengths. Our teachers are experienced, passionate and inspiring, having high expectations for every child they teach, regardless of ability.
We are an inclusive
services, food production and IT infrastructure workers amongst others. It was vital that we ensure we act as a community resource, to be there when others needed us in order that these vital services continue.
Above all, Brackenfield children are happy. It
is a kind, warm and nurturing school with high expectations. Do come along and see for yourself: we can even offer virtual taster days or weeks if you want to try out our online school with no commitment whatsoever!
