  Gritty People
You need gritty people in your life’s & businesses!
People who are high in emotional intelligence & grit are the key to delivering sustainable change and will lead the way.
K ay Woodburn, 37, from Lanca- shire, is the Founder of Gritty People, a business she created
after realising the power of her
resilience having to grow up quickly beyond her years at 15 following difficult family circumstances and then leaving the family home at 16, overcom- ing domestic abuse as a teen, leaving her unable to walk for a number of months, she battled an eating disorder and PTSD. Kay has risen thanks to her resilience, grit and her commitment to getting the most out of life.
Kay created a career full of oppor- tunities, climbing the corporate ladder for 15 years, before hitting complete burnout. A wife, and mother of two she was struggling to cope with day to day life. On discovering Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) in 2010 her whole perspective changed. She allowed herself to be vulnerable, something she was
not previously good at, and for the first time Kay recalls how she could feel “the layers and layers of steel melting away to feel lighter. Lighter than I can ever remember feeling.”
It was time for her to step out on her own with her purpose driven business, to make this Gritty Mindset available to everyone and ‘Gritty People’ was born
Through Gritty People, Kay, a high challenge coach, is passionate
about helping more of us to
see the way in which we
are conditioned to believe unhelpful things about ourselves & others, and to better understand
how that can limit us in our careers, relation- ships, and lives. She works to provide her clients with more tools within themselves to help them make better decisions in their lives, building confidence and self-belief.
Her absolute passion is
to support others to become
the best version of themselves
and a big part of this is working out their emotional triggers, as once these are identified she can start her work on re- programming their mindset and inputting
a new emotional response so they can be in the most resourceful state for any given situation.
On her mission to make The Gritty Mindset available to everyone, she is reaching out to other sufferers of
stress and anxiety, who feel on a downward spiral, passion- ate about helping them see
that the world needn’t feel like that, and that they can choose to take a different direction – Kay’s mantra
in life is “there’s always
another way lets find it!”
She also helps leaders support their teams, help- ing to identify limiting be-
liefs, or imposter syndrome that could be holding them
back from excelling, and works to reprogram internal beliefs to unlock true potential.
Kay said; “I am grateful for all my life experiences, because I choose
to learn from them, they became my sword. My sword is my strength and my experiences sharpened it. My skills and experience allow me to help others do
the same, I want to reach as many people as I can, so they can have access to the mindset I have come to have and experi- ence the world through a new lens. It’s liberating, enjoyable and elevating.”
“We are all human, and us humans
are emotional beings, we are all coming across new things to deal with in every stage of our lives. It’s a natural part of our growth. The end game is not to perfect ourselves, just to notice what’s happen- ing, when it happens and learn new ways to respond in the most resourceful way
in the future – even us coaches ‘lose our shit’ sometimes but Gritty people over- come obstacles and they will always find a way, maintaining powerful motivation to achieve their objective.”
At Gritty People the team create expe- riences for people, and those experiences allow in the moment responses to help people become more aware of their own patterns of behaviour. Change the internal story and achieve results beyond belief
“You need gritty people in your life’s
& businesses! People who are high in
emotional intelligence & grit are the key to delivering sustainable change and will lead the way.”
 What her clients say.
For far too long I had kept a lid on my anxiety. On the outside
to my family, friends and work colleagues it was business as usual but on the inside I was
like a pressure cooker waiting
to explode. Kay’s support has been instrumental in helping
me to rationally fight my
anxiety and clear my mind from years of negative thoughts and self-criticism. After just one appointment I could feel the positive difference, I have no idea how she does it, to have| lived with this for 20 years and then it’s gone! it’s truly amazing!
