Sport
The sporting ethos at WGHS is very much ‘Sport for All’ and every girl is encouraged to take part.
School sport nurtures both teamwork and individual skills, instilling an enjoyment and appreciation of sport for life.
The school has an indoor sports hall, tennis courts, a sports pavilion, playing elds, gymnasium and tness suite. In addition, there is an AstroTurf pitch and athletics track shared with QEGS. All sports facilities are located within walking distance of the school.
Girls gain much from participating in competitive sport. There is
a vast range of different sports within the PE curriculum and many other extracurricular and lifestyle activities are offered in school,
for our girls to enjoy.
Excellence is achieved by teams and individuals with much success in local, regional and national competitions. Many girls gain prestigious representative honours each year in their sport, ranging from county to national level.
During their time at WGHS, girls may get the chance to participate in a major overseas sports tour, facing opposition and exploring culturally diverse locations across the world.
