Careers Support
We equip girls with the skills and knowledge they need to make informed decisions and to identify careers matched to their own aptitudes and interests.
WGHS
Senior School Prospectus
Girls are encouraged to explore the multitude of possibilities open to them, allowing them to make informed choices about their futures based on their individual strengths, skills and interests.
A programme of online careers packages, talks, PSHEE lessons, a Year 10 Careers Symposium, our Year 11 Futures Thinking Programme and individual interviews, ensures that by the time girls make A level choices, they are well-placed to make decisions about their future.
As work experience is becoming more and more important, we expect all our Year 11 girls to participate in at least one work placement.
In the Sixth Form, we work very closely with our students to help them discover the right path for their career journey.
Expert help is provided throughout the UCAS process. Mock interviews, including Medical Multi-Mini Interviews (MMI), are available to anyone who needs them. We have extensive links with universities all over the country
and offer numerous talks by Admissions Of cers through the Year 12 GIS programme, including a bespoke guidance programme for prospective Oxbridge candidates.
In the nal weeks of Year 12, we run a three day Higher Education Conference jointly with QEGS, which includes sessions with Student Ambassadors and Admissions Tutors to work on personal statements, a day at a Russell Group university for the whole year group and, nally, a day of Life Skills.
