“We’re so grateful to have won on the Ashgate Lottery, thank you!”
Kathleen, 65, is retired and lives with her husband, Paul, 67, who is also retired.
“In the 46 years that we’ve been married, we’ve never won anything! We’ve had a very happy marriage but we’ve worked hard all our lives.
When they told me I’d won £10,000 I started crying, I couldn’t believe it! When Paul came in, he didn’t believe it either! Usually, Paul has no trouble sleeping no matter what’s going on, but that night neither of us could sleep. We stayed up talking about how we couldn’t believe we had won.
I’ve been playing bingo for years but never won big. I’ve been saving up all my bingo winnings so that we can go on our dream cruise, but I didn’t think it would ever be possible. We love cruises but we’ve only been on mini cruises because I’ve got kidney failure and I have to have dialysis four times a week and it’s just too pricey to go for any longer. There are
only a few ships in the world that offer dialysis. With the money we’ve won, we’ll finally be able to go on our dream cruise: two weeks around Spain and I’ll be able to get dialysis on the ship.
We’d also like to
go to Benidorm for
two weeks and stay
in a five star hotel! I
can’t wait! I’ve seen
the photos of the
hotel we want to
stay in and it looks
fantastic – very luxurious
with marble floors in the lobby!
We’ve given our daughter, Joanne, and her husband some money and we’ll give them a bit more when they go on their holiday. We’ve also been out for
a nice family meal and we took some close friends out for a meal. They have a caravan next to ours and we’ve been friends since 1981! It feels really nice to be able to treat our nearest and dearest.
