A DAY IN THE LIFE OF...
VALUER JAMES BRIDGLAND
If you have ever wondered what the role of a Valuer entails, then read on as we caught up with our very own James Bridgland to get the low down on his typical day at Redbrik.
“Since I joined Redbrik it has been some what of a whirlwind and my days have certainly been very busy.
I have worked in the industry for over 20 years and have lost count of how many properties I have valued during that time!
“The first thing I do when I arrive at
a property valuation is have a chat
to the Vendor and understand why they are thinking of selling. This is an important element of the process and I find helps to put the Vendor at ease.
“Getting the pricing strategy right is critical when it comes to marketing your property.
The advice I give is always realistic and I pride myself on being honest – which is definitely part of the Redbrik company ethos.
“My role as a Valuer is to provide honest, straightforward advice to clients so they can agree on an appropriate asking price for their property to ensure they achieve the best possible sale price.
“I base my valuations on my in-depth
knowledge of the local area, my experience of buyers and what they are prepared to pay for and by using comparable evidence of recent similar property sales.
“Another element of my job is to advise clients on how best to present the property in order to achieve the best price as well as book in property photos, create floor plans and liaise with sales managers amongst other things!
“Once a Vendor has instructed us
to sell their property I am always available to answer any queries and ensure that a high level of customer service is delivered.
“The advice I give is always realistic and I pride myself on being honest – which is definitely part of the Redbrik company ethos.”
