COUNTRYSIDE DREAMS
Rural living is a dream for many people and here at Redbrik wedre often spoilt for choice when it comes to amazing countryside properties on our books. Properties in the Peak District and
the rural reaches of Sheffeld attract buyers from far and wide looking for the country lifestyle.
It’s not hard to see why properties
in the northern end of the Peak District hold such appeal. For the price of a two-bedroom apartment in Islington, London, you could have a five- bedroom detached period home set in more than three acres
of land, such as Watergrove House near Foolow, currently marketed with
Redbrik at £795,000. In addition, the area remains relatively accessible with the M1 on the doorstep and great
rail links to London from Derby and Chesterfield.
With more people being able to work remotely from the offce, a move
to a rural location could be a great way to escape the rat race however broadband speed in remote locations has traditionally been an issue. However Digital Derbyshire, a £34m partnership led by Derbyshire County Council and BT, is aiming to offer 98% of homes and businesses in Derbyshire faster broadband via fibre optic cable by the end of 2018.
Once work is finished, you’ll need a
few options for socialising. Surprisingly, rural areas can be quite a hive of activity with a packed calendar of events. The Peak District has a wealth
of stunning stately homes, most of which offer a variety of events including contemporary art shows, horse trials, cookery lessons and family fun days. In addition, popular events such as the achingly trendy Eroica vintage cycling festival in Bakewell and the many artisan food and drink events in the area should keep your social life buzzing.
If you’re sold on the idea of country living, then take a look at these gems currently on the market with Redbrik.
  1. The brilliantly named Rattle Cottage is a two-bedroom cottage set over four floors just ten minutes walk from the centre of pretty Ashover village. It offers a generous garden, off street parking and is great value at £260,000.
   2. Birley Farm is just six miles from Chesterfield but exists in splendid isolation with sweeping views of Linacre Reservoir. The four-bedroom property is set on a private road and offers a library, open fires, tennis court and ten acres of grounds including a small lake.
