Sport
QEGS has an enviable reputation for sporting excellence, with individual and team successes ranging from county to national honours.
Countless opportunities for sport exist both within and outside the curriculum and within QED for all ages, interests and abilities, forming an integral part of school life.
QEGS bene ts from excellent sporting facilities including a sports hall with tness suite, extensive games elds, an athletics track, a sports pavilion and an all-weather Astroturf.
Pupils are nurtured and encouraged to achieve their potential, with the majority having the opportunity to represent the school on the sports eld.
Numerous representative honours are gained each year at county, regional and national level in the major sports of Rugby, Hockey and Cricket.
Athletics, Cricket, Hockey and Rugby teams regularly reach regional nals and latter stages of national competitions. Playing on the hallowed Twickenham turf in either the U18 or U15 NatWest Cup Finals in four consecutive years is a very enviable track record.
The school aims to promote enjoyment and satisfaction from sport and physical exercise whilst developing a boy’s skills in sport and knowledge of tness and good health.
Each year, sports tours take teams of different ages
to meet the challenges of overseas opponents, with recent destinations including Barbados, Northern Ireland and a Rugby tour to Australia and New Zealand.

at QEGS through the vast range of sports available: Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Climbing, Cricket, Cross-Country, Fencing, Fitness Training, Football, Gymnastics, Hockey, Judo, Mountain Biking, Rugby, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis and Volleyball.
