This July, a major archaeological dig and exciting activities are taking place on the site of the mighty Milton Ironworks, now The Forge playing field.
Milton Ironwork Excavation
Saturday 21 - Saturday 28 July 9am - 12.30pm
1.30pm -4pm
(Monday to Saturday)
Take part in a community excavation on the Milton Forge Fields, site of the former Milton Ironworks.
Under the guidance of professional archaeologists, get hands on to help uncover parts of this fascinating site.
No need for any previous experience, training will be provided.
This is a free activity, but places are strictly limited so advance booking is essential. Places can be booked in half day sessions.
Supported by the Great Place Wentworth and Elsecar and Elsecar Heritage Action Zone projects.
