Gordon Jackson Chairman, LHVA Welcome to the 10th annual Leeds Hotels &
Venues Association Awards Dinner.
It promises to be a fantastic evening, in no small part due to the hard work of Wayne and his team at The Queens Hotel. Thank you to all who have worked towards ensuring this is another sensational Awards Dinner.
I am delighted to welcome all the members who are
attending as we celebrate the wealth of hospitality talent
in this great city. Tonight is your night – a chance for us
to recognise your commitment, effort and dedication in maintaining Leeds’ proud reputation for delivering first class, Yorkshire service.
My thanks too to our esteemed panel of judges, made up of independent customer service professionals, all of whom give up their free time to assist with our Awards.
Finally, please take a moment to acknowledge our supporters and sponsors without whom none of this would be possible. I am particularly delighted to welcome Leeds BID as our headline sponsor and Trinity Leeds as gold sponsors this year.
I hope everyone has a wonderful evening and wish all our nominees the best of luck! Gordon Jackson
Harry Gration Your host for the evening
Harry is a Yorkshire lad through and through. Born in Bradford and later moving to York where he still resides now with his family, he started out doing sports commentaries for Radio Leeds and Radio Humberside during school holidays when he had time off from being a history teacher.
In 1994 he moved in to broadcast media full time and has remained there ever since, covering various sporting events as well as public affairs and of course being the face of Look North.
Harry completed a 3-legged challenge tied to BBC Weather Forecaster Paul Hudson. Walking 120 hilly miles across South, West and North Yorkshire over nine days, they raised £300,000 for Sport Relief.
In March this year he won the Royal Television Society Regional Presenter of the Year Award for the second time.
