• A fixed-appliance system is necessary that has optimal tooth

• control, and can achieve the following:

• 1. The correction of any unwanted torque and tip that may

• have occurred during the functional appliance phase, par-

• ticularly torque.

• 2. Ideal finishing, including a Class I occlusion and the

• condyles centered in the fossae.
