• Ideally, treatment is initiated during the late mixed dentition, which
encompasses the pubertal growth spurt of growth and development.
The advantages are
1- 50% of the permanent dentition will complete their
eruption within 24 months.
2- Patient compliance and dentoalveolar compensation
appear to be more efficient during these pre-teen years. And
3- control of the “E” space is still available.
