Goal Setting – Defining Your AI Learning Objectives
To effectively build AI literacy, it helps to set SMART goals—ones
that are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-
bound.
SMART vs. Non-SMART AI Learning Goals
SMART Goal Example:
"Complete an introductory AI/ML course on Coursera
within the next 3 months and apply learned concepts by
building a simple ML model." (Specific: Taking a course,
Measurable: Course completion, Achievable: Beginner-friendly
course, Relevant: Supports AI literacy, Time-bound: 3 months)
Non-SMART Goal Example:
"Become an AI expert someday." (This lacks specificity, a
measurable outcome, and a clear timeframe.)
Your AI Learning Goals
Think about what you hope to achieve by increasing
your AI literacy. Define 1-2 SMART goals for your learning
journey:
Goal 1:
(Specific) ______________________________________________________________,
(Measurable) __________________________________________________________,
(Achievable) ___________________________________________________________,
(Relevant) _____________________________________________________________,
(Time-bound) _________________________________________________________.
