THE SHOUT OF THE KING

                                     DAY 10
               I CHOOSE THE RIGHT

                            THOUGHTS

Guarding the Gates: Mind and Mouth
            I
n times of trials, our mouths can seem to have a mind of
their own. It's crucial to be accountable for our thoughts
because the root source of our words is our thoughts.
Satan often injects thoughts like "I can't continue anymore,"
and before we realize it, our mouths engage in verbalizing
those thoughts. Therefore, we must feed our minds with the
right information. Let's be cautious about what we watch
and hear consistently. We need to arrest or cast out every
wrong thought, bringing it under the obedience of Christ (2
Corinthians 10:5). The mind is the battlefield, and its
complete renewal is essential to experience God's good
plans (Romans 12:2). The mouth will never be controlled
unless the mind is controlled and well-fed by the Word of
God. Remember that Satan desires to control our minds, but
the Holy Spirit also desires to guide us. However, the Holy
Spirit never forces himself on us—it's our choice.
Meditating on the Word leads to the renewal of our minds.
Let's join the Psalmist in prayer: "Let the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, O
LORD, my strength, and my redeemer" (Psalm 19:14).
Philippians 4:8 provides a guide for our thoughts: "Finally,
brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are
noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure,
