THE SHOUT OF THE KING
DAY 14
THE WINDOWS OF
HEAVEN
C
hrist is the authorized one who opens the doors of
blessings in our lives, yet we have a part to play in
whether or not we receive those blessings. The
windows of heaven are introduced in Malachi 3:10-11,
where God says, “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse,
that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now
herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the
windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there
11
shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke
the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the
fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit
before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.”
In the New International Version (NIV), verse 10 states,
“…see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and
pour out so much blessing that you will not have room
enough for it.” The condition for God opening these
windows for us is as we bring our tithes into the storehouse.
However, we should not forget that the open door of God's
provisions is available for the believer to receive because of
the finished work of Christ on the cross, which we
appreciate with our tithe. Revelation 5:12 emphasizes,
“Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain
to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and
honour, and glory, and blessing.”
