● It is used by society as a whole, not just a few
niche groups.
● The rise of mobile Internet access and social
networks hasaided Web2.0’sgrowth. This growth
is also being fueled by mobile devices such
as Android-powered smartphones and Apple’s
iPhones. As a result of Web 2.0’s growth, apps
such as Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok,
Twitter, and YouTube,to name a few, were able to
grow and dominate the online landscape.
THE FUTURE OF WEB 3.0
Finally,we arrive at the most recent Webversion. To fully
comprehend the significance of Web3.0,we must look to
the future. Despitethe fact that some of its components
are already available, Web 3.0 will take some time to be
fully realized. Web 2.0 is a “participative social Web,”
while Web 3.0 is a “read, write, and execute Web.”
In Web 3.0 users will move away from centralized
platforms, like Facebook or Google, and toward
decentralized, almost anonymous platforms at this
stage of web use. Tim Berners-Lee coined the phrase
“Web 3.0” to describe an Internet that could potentially
process content conceptually and contextually using
artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).
However, this idealized version of the Webhas not come
to fruition to date due to technological constraints such
as high development cost and difficulty of converting
human language into a form that computers can
understand.
