Artificial Intelligence (AI) has come a long way since its
conception in the 1950s. Initially, the focus of AI research was
on creating machines that could mimic human intelligence.
Early pioneers like Alan Turing and John McCarthy laid the
groundwork for AI, but progress was slow due to the
complexities involved in developing machines capable of
learning and problem-solving.
However, in the 1990s, AI experienced a resurgence, thanks to
advancements in computational power and the availability of
large datasets. During this period, expert systems, rule-based
systems, and pattern recognition algorithms gained
prominence. These developments paved the way for the
practical implementation of AI in various industries, including
online businesses.
