simply ask ChatGPT to generate an outline for your rose
gardening book that will meet the needs of your readers. And
remember, you used AI to discover your readers’ needs in the
previous chapter.
Let's use our trusty rose-gardening
book as our example. You’d jump
over to ChatGPT and use a prompt
similar to this:
“Please help me create an outline for a book. This
book will give step by steps instructions a beginner
gardener can follow to grow beautiful roses in their
home garden. The steps should be simple and cost
effective. Please account for the different climates and
soil types in the US. Please produce a detailed outline
with 9-12 chapters and the subsections within those
chapters.”
Notice the detail that I used in the prompt. I used ideas that
connect to the reader’s wants and needs, as we discovered in
the previous chapter. Details like “beginner gardener,” “cost
effective,” “different climates and soil types” and prompting for a
specific number of chapters. By using this level of detail you’re
