He is the same yesterday, today, and forever—and His love endures
forever. This is something to hold on to when we feel we have failed to
live up to what Jesus would like from us.
He still loves us and delights in us, and He will never forsake us. We
are still working out our salvation, but He sees the end result and will
not relent until that which He accomplished for us on the Cross has
been attained.
Another point about this verse is that we invite Jesus to reveal Himself
in greater measure—but when He comes in ways we don’t expect,
initially, we don’t always like it.
However, as we will see, our Bridegroom-King is gentle and patient—
and He waits for us.
