POINTS FOR DISCUSSION AND REFLECTION

❖ In Chapter 2:16, the Shulamite says, ‘My Beloved is mine and

I am His,’ but in session, it changes to ‘I am my Beloved’s and
he is mine?’

What does this change of emphasis suggest to you? Discuss.

❖ In other versions, Verse 4 of chapter 6 describes the Shulamite
as being as lovely as Jerusalem. Read Isaiah 33:20-22 and write

down what this comparison is conveying to God’s people.
❖ The word ‘browse’ is used on two occasions in the NIV version

of verses 2 and 3 of chapter 6. What scenario do these two

occasions conjure up in your mind—the Bridegroom-King
browsing in the gardens and then among the Lilies?
