Going Forward in a Year of Change
The changes brought about in 2020 are a forecast for the near future. Adjusted work styles and virtual engagement will continue. But, growth, expansion and broadening of our work will be at the forefront.
Social Justice & Equity
Earlier this year, CVS Health announced it will invest nearly $600 million over five years to advance employee, community and public policy initiatives that address inequality faced by disenfranchised communities. This investment will focus on the development of programs addressing social justice and equity. The result will be expanded markets and partnerships supporting the diverse populations the company serves.
Thoughtful enterprise-wide planning is ongoing. Aligning with our values, new economic opportunities will be available to underserved communities. We will help people to rebuild their lives while promoting access to health care, including expanding Project Health and other investments that address health disparities. This strategy will be advanced through continued successful partnership development and outreach.
Change Management
Going forward in a world of change will also focus on improving the employee experience. Our team will grow bringing on new talent. Also, corporate-wide expansion will offer multiple opportunities for current Workforce Initiatives team members to pursue new areas of interest, training and development.
Collectively the company will build on its longstanding commitment to diversity through mentoring, sponsorship development and advancement of diverse employees. Company-wide training and corporate culture programs will promote inclusion.
Colleague Engagement
Colleague Engagement will become the norm. Increased engagement between team members advances productivity while building support and a spirit of unity and camaraderie. Increased communication among colleagues develops synergy, enhances skills and increases competency to reach goals.
In the era of remote work spaces, success is dependent on good communication between colleagues. An open environment for sharing experiences, ideas
and outreach helps grow individual and professional skills. The Workforce Engagement team has established a communication pathway to navigate the virtual world. This will continue.
What our partners are saying...
Ebenezer Baptist Church
“The collaboration between Ebenezer Baptist Church and CVS Health Workforce Initiatives has developed into a valuable partnership of a shared belief in equitable access to opportunities
such as basic health care, training and provision of
basic needs for members of disenfranchised communities.
The Ebenezer partnership
with CVS Health Workforce Initiatives, in the development of the new Workforce Innovation and Talent Center (WITC), will enable CVS Health and Ebenezer to anchor
those opportunities where they will have a major impact within one of the city’s largest disenfranchised communities – Pittsburgh’s Hill District.
Ebenezer Baptist Church is
a ‘Life Changing Church’, and in partnership with CVS Health, lives will be enriched and changed for hundreds of families and individuals!”
– Rev. Dr. Vincent K. Campbell Senior Pastor, Ebenezer Baptist Church, Pittsburgh
