CVS Health Workforce Initiatives Simulated and Mock Facilities
INTRODUCTION
The commitment to developing and sustaining a diverse and inclusive work environment has led to innovative best practices by CVS Health Workforce Initiatives in building a talent pipeline of qualified candidates for employment.
The mock CVS Pharmacies, designed and stocked to look like a CVS store, offer unique hands-on-training in a simulated retail or pharmacy space housed in schools, vocational rehabilitation centers or agencies where people can learn the retail or pharmacy technician skills necessary to work at CVS.
The mock CVS Pharmacies allow participants enrolled in training programs for certified pharmacy technicians and retail sales associates to practice what they are learning in the classroom before entering the workforce.
Currently, 40 CVS Workforce Initiatives mock CVS Pharmacies serve high schools and colleges, vocational rehabilitation centers, Goodwill Industries locations, Job Corps and apprenticeship programs in 18 states, providing training for people with disabilities, students enrolled in pharmacy technician curricula, and retail sales training.
