Where Does Bergamot Come From?
BOGO 2 Bergamot
Italy:
Bergamot
*In addition to the regions noted, many oils are also sourced from various regions of the world.
Did You Know?
Bergamot is the most delicate of the citrus plants and resembles a cross between a lime
and a grapefruit.
The essential oil comes from “rasping” the peel (like a cheese grater that scratches the
peel) using special equipment. The fruit comes out looking something like a small, fuzzy
ball with the peel completely removed. The oil is then separated from the water in a
centrifuge, where it’s processed at least twice.
Why Bergamot?
Bergamot’s aroma is both cheerful and relaxing. It may also support a healthy nervous
system, calm the digestive system, and promote a healthy metabolism when taken
internally thanks to limonene, one of its primary chemical constituents.* These areas of
support make it an optimal choice to have around the holidays—and any time of year!
