The work was shot in Rome in the summer of 2012, during a European championship match between
Italy, which unexpectedly managed to make it all way to the final, and Spain, the world champion. The final,
which took place in Ukraine, was screened in the Italian capital in the park of Circo Massimo, to an audience
of hundreds of thousands. I am especially indebted to Alessandro Forino and his two friends for having 'taken
me under their care' following a chance meeting on the train, taking me with them to the "heart of darkness"
and on to a fascinating journey between hope and despair – to a revolution that was to fail.
