Page 18 - Your Leader Within Introduction
P. 18

I can honestly say that, without Fred’s intuitive decision making, we never would have made it. He truly honored his intuition and then used his intellect to plot the course.
“The intuitive mind is a sacred gift...”
A gift so powerful that, when properly used, it can lead us to clarity, confidence, and commitment for the choices we make and the life we lead.
It is so powerful, that we no longer need to look to outside authorities to tell us what is right for our lives.
Einstein is saying that this internal guide is within each of us.
“...and the rational mind is a faithful servant.”
We, especially men, tend to drive our lives primarily, and sometimes solely, with our intellect. Intellect has major limitations as it sees only a limited view of life.
As Anais Nin said...
“We see life not as it is, but as we are.”
The intellect views life through the lens of its own beliefs. Or, better put, through the ego’s beliefs.
The rational mind has internal voices that sometimes drown out the soft whisper of truth. Often, these voices reflect the past — what we have been told by parents, teachers and other people in our lives that forgot the sacred gift long before we came around.
