As a boy growing up in the ‘50s, feelings and emotions were not acceptable. Like many men growing up in the 20th century, I had learned to anesthetize my feelings.
To this day, it still takes a great deal of consciousness to be aware of and express what I’m feeling. I didn’t spend much work on that part of me until I realized how essential feelings are to both intuition and life in general. You feel joy in proportion to your feelings of sorrow.
Section 1 of this Chapter profiles the artist Spar Street and his realization of not being able to cry. It is feeling deeply that enables energy to flow, both intuitive energy and the energy of life.
People talk about the journey from head to heart being the longest journey some will ever take. It is an essential journey if one is to both experience life and their internal guidance. During the interview with Terri-Lynn I asked her how one gets in touch with their feelings.
She turned me over to her husband Symbi who was not conscious of his feelings, but found a way to reclaim his emotional being.
