Section III: Wealthy
Wealth and abundance are interesting words. The dictionary defines abundance as having a very large quantity of something. Many define it as having a very large quantity of money and material goods — an abundant or wealthy lifestyle. I define it as having whatever it takes to be happy and healthy.
I view wealth as freedom both from and to: Freedom from worry about whether there will be
enough.
Freedom from having to please someone else at the expense of my own happiness.
I was part of the “Big Brother – Little Brother” program for seven years. One day, I picked up my little brother Mark and asked him if he was having a good day. He said, yes it was a great day. Then I asked what the difference was between a good day and bad day. I’ll never forget his very wise answer:
“A good day is when you do what you want to do. A bad day is when you do what someone else wants you to do.” He was eight years old at the time.
