Pivot3 Achieves Cisco Compatibility Certi cation on the UCS and UCS Mini Computing Platforms
AUSTIN, Texas – Pivot3 announced that its vSTAC OS software has successfully achieved Cisco compatibility certi cation with Cisco’s Uni ed Computing System and UCS Mini computing platforms. The Internet of Everything (IoE) continues
to bring together people, processes, data and things to enhance the relevancy of network connections. As a member of the Cisco® Solution Partner Program, Pivot3 is able to quickly create and deploy solutions to enhance the capabilities, performance and management of the network to capture value in the IoE.
Pivot3’s patented software simpli es operations and uni es the internal storage contained within each server
into a global pool of capacity. Because
of Pivot3’s unique architecture, Pivot3 eliminates the need for an external SAN (whether that is Fibre Channel, iSCSI) by delivering up to 84 percent usable capacity within the blades contained within the UCS Mini. Using currently available SSD drive options from Cisco, up to 41TB of usable storage can be delivered from 16 Blades. Through Pivot3’s patented and ultra- ef cient software, the combined Pivot3/ UCS solution eliminates the cost and complexity of maintaining an external SAN while reducing the rack space, power, cooling and administrative resources historically required. Pivot3’s
software provides a simpli ed platform optimized for ef ciency, resiliency and game-changing performance.
“Our certi cation on the Cisco USC and UCS Mini platforms means we
can provide customers with increased agility to scale capacity and performance quickly and easily while reducing costs
in the data center,” said Ron Nash, CEO of Pivot3. “Together, we can automate deployment and other orchestration capabilities enabling customers to continue to simplify management in an easy-to-use UI, which makes both remote and centralized IT staff more productive.”
“By adapting Pivot3’s vSTAC OS to the UCS and the UCS Mini, we can deliver
a carrier-grade, cloud-scale virtualized
IT infrastructure solution that unlocks enterprise capabilities, but in a small, extremely ef cient form factor while eliminating the need in most cases for
an external SAN,” said Brad Ross, vice president of global accounts at Pivot3. “Pivot3 unites compute, network, storage and virtualization into a software-de ned architecture. As a result, organizations can rapidly scale deployments and increase responsiveness to line of business requests as needs grow without expensive pre-buys. Additionally, in
an independent analysis by Forrester Research in their Total Economic Impact® (TEI) study, they found that Pivot3 delivers a 103 percent payback within seven months.”
The Cisco Solution Partner Program, part of the Cisco Partner Ecosystem, unites Cisco with third-party independent hardware and software vendors to deliver integrated solutions to joint customers. As a Solution Partner, Pivot3 offers a complementary product offering and has started to collaborate with Cisco to meet the needs of joint customers. n
