Books and Bagels

Once again, KAWRJ will team up with the Men’s Club to have breakfast and discuss books. Come hear about some really great books, and help us decide which book we will read as a whole congregation. Did we mention there would be some delicious food?
KAWRJ Wins Kavod Award
Last spring we held a seminar called “Heroes of the Hungry and Homeless.” This seminar was a winner of the Eleanor Kretzer Kavod Award “recognizing and honoring innovative programming projects and significant contributions to social action exemplifying the spirit of tikkun olam.”
These special awards are presented biennially at the WRJ Pacific District Convention to the sisterhoods whose projects and programs best meet the rigorous selection criteria.
We already know we’re special, but it’s nice to be recognized by others.

End Shabbat with us and then watch RBG, “a revelatory documentary exploring Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s exceptional life and career.” We’ll provide the popcorn and discussion questions.

Sunday Connections and Conversations: Calming Ourselves and Others
Sunday, December 16, 10:15 a.m. in the CKA Library In the midst of all the December hubbub, join us in the library as we hear from a community mediator and learn what mediators do to stay calm in the midst of conflict, and in working with clients to help them in the face of often very emotional and difficult circumstances. We will also participate in some mindfulness activities.
