Guru Nanak Jayanti marks the birth
anniversary of the first Sikh Guru
and was celebrated with great zeal
at the school. A special assembly
was conducted to mark the
occasion. The assembly started with
the prayers and speech which
briefed about the childhood of Guru
Nanak Devji and narrated a few
‘sakhis’(stories) related to his life to
the children. Serenity and calmness
floated in the air with the beautiful
humming of the shabads(sacred
songs) and it paved the way for a
very peaceful day for all. The well-
presented enactment of spiritual
journey was played by the students
which reiterated the message ‘One
God’ and the ‘Eternal Truth.’ It
certainly enlightened the students
about the solemnity of the festival.
Students and staff of Ashworth
School were invited. They also
presented the performances to
mark the occasion.
The festival was celebrated by all the students with great pride,
honour and respect. Guru Prasad was also distributed to all the
students and staff members. The assembly was then concluded
with the Ardas(prayer) followed by langar(free community meal).
