hope when you read them, you’ll remember me. Be sure I’ll be praying for you. I can’t wait to share pic- tures with my mom and sister — and friends, too. We’ll stay connected, because God’s love ties our hearts together.”
Daya nodded a yes as she turned to go and whis- pered, “Won’t forget. Safe travel to your country.” She ran to meet her mother, who waited for her in the doorway of their home.

Talk It Out
You’ll find a number of documentaries on You- Tube giving virtual tours of Nepal. Most of them feature visits to temples (both Hindu and Buddhist), damaging results from the earthquake, and journeys to the top of Mount Everest. MaryCatherine is a fictional character, of course, who spends a year ad- venturing in Nepal — though not mountain climb- ing! A more modern part of the city exists, where you could find a hotel similar to the one where she and her dad lived.
