Adverbs of Time
Adverbs of time are a number of words and phrases
that are often used to show when an action or situation
happened in the past. Here are some of the most
common ones.
Adverbs of Time: ago
We use time reference + ago to show how far back in the
past something happened:

Examples: years days
She left five minutes ago.
three ago an
The plane landed an hour ago. months hour
My sister was born three months ago. five a long
minutes time
The cat died four years ago.
Adverbs of Time: last
We use last + time reference to mean the most recent or
nearest to the present day time:
