each liaison’s specific needs. Now, the Supply Zone is partnering with the BLAST program, and BLAST students are making deliveries to every school that requested items.
Since its inception in 2014, the Supply Zone has become a vital resource for teachers across Brevard. But its value and impact really came to light during the past 10 months.
“The Head Start program serves many low income families. Their jobs were hit hard at the beginning of the pandemic,” said one Head Start employee. “We received many hygiene products from the Supply Zone and were able to pass them on to families. Not having to worry about soap/toothpaste/shaving gear/deodorant was a big deal for our families. These are necessities that are often overlooked when other help is being offered.”
Some kids are starting to feel a return to “normal.” But for many, the long-term effects of the pandemic will present challenges for months and perhaps years. But the Supply Zone is committed to helping students in-need continue their education, no matter what the circumstances.
