“It is really cool to have my dad
working with rockets because I, myself,
am interested in spaceships and space. It is just really cool to learn about those kinds of things,” Corces said.
Sophia Calero, 7, with both of her parents working in the space industry, feels the same way about how exciting space is.
“It’s really fun to go with them to work, when it is take your child to work day, or even go to the space center and the visitor complex where it is really fun and cool to see all the rockets that actually went into space and you get to see how it helped exploration,” Calero said.
The aerospace industry provides more than 85,000 jobs in Florida, which means there is a variety of what there is to do. Such jobs include aerospace, computers, advanced material engineering, mechanical engineering, robotics, spacecraft manufacture and design, and telecommunications.
“Ever since I was young, I have wanted to work in the space industry. I want to be an astrophysicist when I grow up, which is where you get to study space and how things work there,” Calero said.
Space is an exciting region of humans’ lives, and it continues to grow in popularity and intensity in the United States. Just like how the universe is expanding by the second.
 Boom. Boom.
The iconic sonic boom rings in everyone’s ears as they all look up to the sky, their hands shading their eyes from the bright sun.
The two boosters once used to blast a rocket into space, that once held 1.1 million pounds of fuel each, have returned home. They circle through the sky, landing upright on either a barge in the ocean or a land-based landing site.
The rocket in the solar system is out of orbit, performing the perfect mission every engineer and manager hoped it would.
Mission accomplished.
 What’s New in Space?
The Space Force
This decisive new branch of military is being debated among the president and the Pentagon. The Space Force could become part of the Air Force, but hasn’t yet been authorised by Congress as its own established branch. If it is established, the Space Force will likely be responsible for military affairs and foreign relations relating to space, for instance by monitoring the maintenance of military satellites.
The Starlink Fleet
Space company SpaceX, created by engineer and entrepreneur Elon Musk, is assembling a new mission that will span through the next decade. The objective is to launch 12,000 communication satellites into orbit around Earth, which will build a more extensive internet network and bring cheap internet to more remote areas.
The James Webb Telescope
The new replacement for the popular, yet aged 1990 Hubble Telescope has finally arrived. After many delays and vexing setbacks, the launch date for this modern telescope has been decided on: 2021. Manufactures Northrop Grumman and Ball Aerospace and Technologies, with the help of The European Space Agency, will provide an Ariane 5 rocket to send the telescope to outer space. The telescope will function as the Hubble’s successor and will attempt to gather data about how stars, along with other cosmic bodies, are formed.
