Legacy Club Fair Returns to Viera
Over 200 seniors, many local Legacy Club members, enjoyed a senior fair at the school board offices Friday, June 29. Over 40 vendors were present providing resources, door prizes and giveaways. The fair was free for Legacy Club members to attend, with lunch provided by assisted living facility, Grand Villa Senior Living. Other sponsors included Community Credit Union, VITAS and Seniors Helping Seniors.
District 4 School Board Representative, Matt
Susin, was the keynote speaker. He provided
brief updates on BPS’ incoming Superintendent, Dr. Mark Mullins, and ongoing security measures to harden all public schools in the county. Mr. Susin also shared an enthusiastic update on the new Advanced Manufacturing and Welding Training Center, breaking ground soon at BPS’ Adult and Community Education campus in Cocoa.
The Legacy Club Fair takes place once a year at the district offices as an opportunity for Legacy Club members to visit the district campus, enjoy vendors and door prizes, socialize and hear an update from senior BPS staff. The Legacy Club, residents age 55 and above, receive a free annual membership that allows them to attend BPS events for no-cost or at a reduced rate. In addition to events, educational programming and a newsletter is provided.
