Congratulations 2019 Emerging & Rookie Teachers of the Year
The Rookie/Emerging Teacher of the Year is a new recognition designed to honor the work of our first and second year teachers, specifically those being served
in our new teacher induction program. Rookie Teacher of the Year is awarded to those with less than one year of teaching experience, while Emerging Teacher of the Year is awarded to those in the process of completing their second year in BPS. There are six teachers chosen overall, a rookie and an emerging teacher for elementary, middle, and high school. Teachers were selected based
on their current school involvement, evidence of student achievement, and their innovation in the school setting. All six of our selected teachers will be attending the ABC awards in January to be celebrated for being chosen and will serve other new teachers through participation in our district New Teacher Academy. This initiative was launched by the Department of Professional Learning and Development, with the support of the BPS cabinet members and the Brevard Schools Foundation.
