             Scientists found out that vipers are highly skilled snakes in the way that their bodies evolved, or changed,
by this point in time. These changes make them experts at killing prey. For example, when vipers open their lower jaws, their fangs rotate from the roofs of their mouths and straight down. This is the perfect position for getting their venom deep into prey. Similar to other snakes, vipers can squeeze a muscle in their cheeks to control how much venom they use at once.
