First BPS Well Care Center Opens
The BPS Well Care Center located in the parking lot of the School Board building in Viera, opened its doors late last year.
The center is designed to provide health management services, including primary care services, health assessments, lifestyle coaching, and chronic condition coaching to more than 6,600 BPS employees and their dependents covered on the BPS health insurance plan. Two additional well-care centers will open later this year at Andrew Jackson Middle in Titusville and at Central Middle in West Melbourne.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held last month to introduce the community to the center and to allow employees a sneak peek at the services the center provides. The onsite center is part of a partnership with Marathon Health, LLC, whose clinicians provide personalized health care to BPS employees.
“The decision to implement an onsite healthcare program was based on BPS’ commitment to the wellbeing of its employees, retirees, and their families,” said school board member, Andy Ziegler.
“We believe these onsite health centers will o er signi cant bene ts to our employees and their families by increasing access to quality care and decreasing their healthcare costs,” said Mark Langdorf, director of bene ts
and risk management. “We look forward to the opportunity to show how we are changing healthcare delivery.”
BPS assistant superintendent for facilities, Dane Theodore, welcomes guests to the Well Care Center.
