Memory Lane
Strolling Down
Story by Maisa Doan and Thien-Nhi Nguyen
Look back on your childhood with this list of toys you probably forgot.
Bratz Dolls
Bratz dolls used to be so common you could find them in any little girl’s room. However, since they’ve been kicked off the market, they have been forgotten and
difficult to find.
These dolls were the role models for many young
girls as well as a source of entertainment. They were instantly a hit as soon as they came out in 2001. You could dress them up, and, unlike Barbie dolls, they could be found in many different ethnicities.
They were extremely popular and were constantly improved.
Bratz dolls had such a large variety of clothing and looks, kids never got bored of them. Unfortunately, they were taken off the market because they were sued by Mattel, the creators of Barbie, for using their designs. Despite this, Bratz dolls are beloved and, without
a doubt, will be remembered.
Pokémon Cards
“Gotta catch ‘em all!” Pokémon cards were the craze of all early 2000s kids. They were created in December of 1998, but still remained popular throughout the 2000s. Kids would build their decks and battle friends, trading
cards trying to improve their deck.
The first Pokémon game came out on the Nintendo
Game Boy allowing players to catch, train and trade creatures and become Pokemon masters. A legendary Pokémon character named Mew made the game popular. Soon after, the Pokémon trading game was made and the Pokémon cards became popular really
quick.
Pokémon Cards were a significant part of many kids’

lives and, looking back, created many good memories.
