Boy’s Soccer
On December 6, the Boy’s Soccer Team went to our island rivals Merritt Island for a game that would determine the North Cape Coast Conference Champion. Both teams played intense games against the Mustangs. The JV team had a tough loss with the game ending with a score of 4-0. Varsity came out strong and won the game with a score of 4-0. The first goal came from varsity rookie Christian Guirgis, 9. The following three goals came from junior Ethan Decesare.
“It felt amazing, the goals just came one after another and the atmosphere was awesome. If it wasn’t for my teammates nothing would’ve happened. The team worked hard and our result was great,” Decesare said.
With the four outstanding goals and an amazing team effort the Varsity boys claimed the title as the North Cape Conference Champions. The boys wish to continue their amazing season and look to claim the overall first spot in Cape Coast Conference.
Girl’s Soccer
On December 14, the Girl’s Soccer Team had a big rivalry and district match against West Shore. The girls fought hard and defeated the Wildcats. The JV team competed well and had a tough match with the score ending 0-0. The Varsity had an outstanding
victory beating West
Shore 1-0. The goal
came from senior
captain Francesca
Espinoza, 12, with the
assist coming from
fellow senior captain
Melia Miller, 12.
“It felt amazing to score and win against our rivals especially since it’s my senior year. It was a great team win,” Espinoza said.
With this great team win the girls are looking towards more district wins and reclaiming the title of District 8 Champions.
